with David Heustess
A 4-part Workshop, Virtual on Zoom

Explore the beautiful and ancient art of Shibori and the use of stitches and knots to create images and patterns on fabric in David Heustess’s virtual workshop, Secrets of Shibori – Stitches & Knots. Participants will create small samplers of the various stitches and knots on cotton fabric; experienced students may create their own designs for wall hangings or fabric for quilts/garments. Fabrics can be dyed in an indigo vat or any other dyeing method that is preferred. Participants will receive information and instructions on the techniques, indigo vats and dyeing, other dyeing techniques, and instructions on rinsing and cleaning the fabric. Since the work is independent, participants may work at their own pace and contact David via email for any questions and guidance between zoom sessions.
