All the Pretty Fleece with Kimberly Radcliffe
October 9, 2022 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
The fleece sale at any event can be overwhelming as you walk among the endless bags of fleece! Was it skirted well, is it sound, what is that white stuff? Learn what makes a fleece a good choice and when to keep walking, no matter how pretty the color may be! Fine wools, longwools, double-coated, down breeds, oh my! Do you have a specific project in mind but not sure which type of fleece will be suitable?
Scroll down for the registration form.

I will bring several different types of sheep fleeces as well as alpaca and mohair, so you can see the good, the bad and the ugly! Each fleece will be laid out on a table and you’ll be hands on with each fleece as I talk about its good and/or bad qualities and answer your questions. I’ll explain skirting as well as provide tips on washing, storing and best types of preparation for each. By the end of class, you should feel more confident in your ability to select an appropriate fleece for your needs and your next fleece purchase will be an enjoyable experience!

About Kimberly: Kimberly Radcliffe learned to knit as a child but really began her fiber journey in May of 2009 after taking a spinning class with Barbara Gentry. Soon enough, raw fleece started following her home and she now has rooms overflowing with fiber, all vying for her attention. She finds great satisfaction in each step of transforming raw fleece into beautiful yarns. Her handspun yarn has won numerous awards. A comber and worsted lace spinner at heart, she enjoys sharing her fiber passion and enthusiasm with others, helping them along their fiber journey. She lives in Fluvanna County, VA.
